“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in.” Matthew 25:35
In a world filled with God’s abundance, no one should go hungry. The Food Pantry exists to serve as a resource to our neighbors who, due to a variety of circumstances, cannot provide food for themselves and their families. This ministry serves all who seek assistance, without regard to religious affiliation, to meet their needs as Jesus would, with compassion, love and understanding.
Parishioners from St Raphael’s and our partners, St. Gregory the Great and Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony parishes, bring food items to church which are subsequently organized, assembled, and distributed to those in need within the community by a team of volunteers. In addition to non-perishable foods, our food pantry receives fresh produce and eggs from generous vendors, and from the community garden of our partner St. Gregory the Great Church.
Our food pantry is open every other week of the year. We distribute food to over 300 families on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.
Volunteers are always welcome, please come to the Parish Center on Reach Out Saturdays before 9:00 am.
